Amsterdam Flights

Laid back and warm, quirky and quaint, Amsterdam is a city with a lot of character. Although the locals lend to this destination's personality, much of the charm can be found in the stunning architecture, throughout the landscape and within the heart of its history and culture. As this city tends to be on the liberal side, tourists with a variety of backgrounds flock to it. Given this fact, it is not surprising to discover that cheap flights to Amsterdam are easy to come by, regardless of the season.

Best time to go to Amsterdam

Peak Season:

The peak season in Amsterdam falls from June to August. During this period, the city is filled with tourists seeking to enjoy all the warmth of summer. This is an excellent time to get involved with the city's outdoor activities, such as the Zomer in the Tolhuistuin, lounging on the beach, or strolling around the canals.

Shoulder Season:

The shoulder season in Amsterdam lasts from April to May, then again in September to November. These months are generally mild, but the temperature can sometimes drastically shift from very hot to very cold. Because of this tourism wanes, leaving room for the stray visitor to enjoy the sites in peace. Flights to Amsterdam are usually cheap during this season, unless you book your trip near Queen's Day in April, when the city bursts with activity.

Off Season:

Though Amsterdam can be bracingly cold during the off season from December to March, this is still a great time to visit, as flights are cheap and there is still plenty to do. For instance, you could visit the Van Gogh museum, tour the Heineken Brewery or explore the Nieuwe Kerk.
