"We really loved our stay here - not sure why the reviews are so bad.
The farmhouse has been renovated and is gorgeous - you have a bedroom with another bed on a mezzanine for the kids. The rooms are clean and have aircon (thank goodness... it was 35 degrees :-))
There's parking right in front of your room and a big pool and pool area to use - if I understand correctly there is a small charge to use the pool but we were out every day until late so it didnt apply.
The service in the restaurant...

"We loved our stay in PIANELLE Resort. The location was terrific and the hotel was beautifully designed with a great attention to detail and comfort. The staff were friendly and very professional. At one point we needed a prescription filled and one of the staff went personally to the pharmacy and returned with the medication. "

"Hotel first: Basiiani Hotel is a marvel in a town once called the 'Shame of Italy'. It is a hotel that is comprised of several rooms carved into caves that used to be people's homes. It is awesome. The decor, beds, bathroom and amenities all top notch. The staff friendly and the buffet breakfast was great. Highly recommended. Now the town of Matera.... you must go. Truly out of this world and worth every adjective of beauty."
